F.A.Q.

Do I need to be in shape before starting this program?

Not at all! Whether you haven’t worked out in years or you are already fit, anyone can benefit from this program. Classes are designed to challenge all fitness levels.

Why are shoes important in a water workout?

Shoes allow you to “grip” the bottom of the pool and enable you to push off and control movements. The added surface area adds resistance which in turn increases the intensity of your workout - more calories burned and more overload to the muscles.

What can I achieve from  boot camp?

Your body will become more fit and toned, and you will gain more confidence, making a dramatic improvement in your physical well-being. The camp program includes exercises designed to firm your butt and thighs, flatten your stomach, reduce body fat and increase stamina.

By losing fat and gaining muscle, you'll lose inches and gain strength while looking and feeling better. Also, you'll meet great people who share in the same vision of striving to reach their goals for a healthier mind and body.

*Check with a doctor before beginning your exercise program, especially if you are pregnant or have chronic back, joint, heart, or inner-ear problems. Don't overdo it. If you feel tired then stop. You should be relaxed, not depleted of energy.

Aim to walk or jog in the water for between 20 to 40 minutes per exercise session.

Water aerobics has an added benefit: it enables you to burn up calories much more efficiently.

Compare the following estimates of calorie consumption for a 30-minute workout:

  • Land walking: 135 calories
  • Deep water walking; 264 calories
  • Jogging on land: 240 calories
  • Deep water jogging: 340 calories

The average person burns 450 to 700 calories during one hour of aerobic activity.
